Host: Expert Talks. Understanding Operation Vijay. I’m joined today by a military historian and former infantry officer.
Host: Thank you for being here. Let’s start at the beginning. How was the intrusion first detected?
Guest: Thank you for having me. The intrusion came to light in early May, nineteen ninety-nine, when local shepherds and then army patrols reported armed positions on our side of the Line of Control.
Host: And the defining decision of the war?
Guest: Restraint. Operations were deliberately confined to the Indian side of the Line of Control. That single political choice shaped the tactics on every ridge. There were no shortcuts, only the hard climb.
Host: A costly choice, but a clear one. Thank you for joining us on Expert Talks.
