The Kargil War Memorial in Dras stands at the foot of the Tololing hills, a permanent tribute to the soldiers who gave their lives in Operation Vijay (1999).
Every wall, every name engraved, and every artefact preserved here keeps alive the spirit of the heroes who defended India's heights — so that future generations will always remember.

In the summer of 1999, the high mountains of Kargil became the stage of one of the most difficult and defining wars fought by independent India. These were not ordinary mountains.
